Shares Why She's Happy She Chose Dr. Brown

"Dr. Brown is amazing! He was the only consult I went too because I loved his work, I was dead set on him doing my breast reduction. Within seconds of meeting him, I knew I made the right choice. Dr. Brown took his time to answer all my questions and made me feel safe with the surgery. Samantha/Kaylee were a big help as well, always answered my texts/questions. The day of the surgery, I met the anesthesiologists and everyone that was going to be in the procedure room which I really appreciated. I'm currently 6 weeks out and I'm in love with my results!!!! Thank you so much Dr. Brown for everything!" Sara

How Does Breast Reduction Work?

Each breast reduction begins with a custom consultation at our welcoming Tampa, FL, plastic surgery office. There, Dr. Brown will listen to your concerns and explain your options. He'll also make sure surgery is safe for you by learning about your medical history and medications, as well as assessing your current health.
Typically, breast surgery can take two to five hours. When you wake up, you will truly have a weight off your chest.

Anesthesia

To keep you fully comfortable during your breast reduction, we will give you general anesthesia and numbing medications. Once they have taken complete effect, you will be asleep, so you won't feel any discomfort at all.

Incisions

Dr. Brown can use three different breast reduction techniques. The first involves creating an incision around your areola and nipple. For the second, he can place a vertical incision to the breast crease and around the areola. Finally, he also can create a vertical and horizontal breast crease incision around the areola.

Reduction

Next, our plastic surgeon will carefully reduce the volume of your breasts, including skin and fat.

Adjustments

After that, he will artfully refine the form of your areolas, nipples, and breasts.

Final Touches

Once Dr. Brown is satisfied with the form and aesthetics of your new breasts, he will close up any incisions. He may also attach surgical drains, which will help reduce swelling as you heal.
