Breast Augmentation: Case 29
Description
This 54 year old Patient from Tampa FL has a complex breast surgical history with multiple revisions. Her initial breast augmentation was at age 20, and implants were later redone after childbearing. She reports repeated issues with the left breast implant “pushing out” and “rejecting,” leading to three revision surgeries with the original surgeon. When he retired, she was referred to a second surgeon who placed a left tissue expander with Strattice, but it was positioned incorrectly. That surgeon then relocated to NY, and a third surgeon advised that the expander should be removed due to long-term safety concerns. Her right breast currently has a 700cc high-profile silicone implant, and the left breast has a saline expander After consulting with Dr. Brown and given the complexity of her surgical history, a staged approach was recommended. The first stage consisted of removing the left tissue expander and replacing it with a new left tissue expander along with placement of mesh. Approximately three months later, she proceeded with the second stage, which involved removal of the left tissue expander, bilateral revision of her breast augmentation with silicone implants, revision of the right mastopexy, and scar revision around the left areola
